makemereaditHey guys, I discovered this cool readathon hosted by Ely @ Tea & Titles and Val @ The Innocent Smiley where it’s all about YOU, my lovely peeps, voting on what books I should read for this readathon! It sounds wicked exciting, so let’s go over the ground rules, the times, and the books I’m interested in reading – and you choosing from!

When: July 9th-16th in your timezone

The Rules: Look at the books you own, either physical, e-book or ones you’ve borrowed from the library and pick out a few you really want to read, or feel like you should read. It’s up to you how many you pick, personally I’d pick a few more than you expect to be able to read in a week. Example: if you think you’ll only read two, pick out five books or if you think you can read seven, pick out ten.

Make a list of these books on your blog, or make a video, or a Goodreads shelf or post a picture on Instagram—whatever is easiest for you. Then get friends, other bloggers/booktubers etc. to vote on which books you HAVE to read.
When the readathon comes along, you read the books in the order of most votes. For example, if one book gets 10 votes—you read that first, then the one that got 7 and so on. If there’s a tie, then it’s your preference. The goal is to read as many as possible.
The Tag: If you’re a Twitter or Instagram user, you can join in the fun chatting and such with the hashtag #MakeMeRead.
The Books: Alright, so since I’m a slow reader who has zero motivation to read during work weeks lately, I’m going to list six books for you guys to choose from, but my actual goal is to read a minimum of two books. I’m purposefully not picking ginormous books for this reason. You have a max of three choices:
Note: The poll will be recreated at the beginning of next week, June 26th, and again on July 3rd, as the time limit for the poll is only for a week, but I will keep tallies of the votes!

I voted for Starflight! BECAUSE IT’S SO SO GOOD. It’s like the YA bookish version of Guardians of the Galaxy *shrieks and flails* 😂 I didn’t actually expect to enjoy it as much as I did?! So it’s totally a new favourite. :’)

I have heard so many good things about Starflight, along with Rebel of the Sands! But the only book I have actually read here is Shadow and Bone, which I loved. 🙂

Thank you so much for joining! I can’t wait to see what books are picked!

I think it’ll be a lot of fun! I like the idea of other people voting on books that I already want to read. It’ll give me a chance to actually do it!

Omigosh, Shadow and Bone! I picked it up a few years ago, and couldn’t get past Chapter 2, but a friend encouraged me to give it another shot last year and I LOVED it and promptly binge read the entire series. Hope you like it too!
