This week’s topic is more of a freebie based on the theme of what April Showers are, so we can interpret this however we want: rainy day reads, books that make you cry, books that give you happy tears, books to wash away a bad reading experience, books set in rainy places, books with rain/raindrops/umbrellas on the cover, blue book covers, etc.

For this one, I’m choosing books with blue covers, because after last week’s challenging prompt, I just wanted one that was pretty easy and I could easy look to my shelves and find some pretty covers lol

Click on a cover to go to its Goodreads page!

  • The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna – Other than the touches of yellow, this book is very blue! I’ve been wanting to read it for a few years now since I heard of it, so maybe this will be the year I do!
  • A Winter’s Promise by Christelle Dabos – This translated work is extremely blue for the cover! Each cover is actually a fairly solid color with detailing in design of architecture, which I really like.
  • The Subtle Art of Folding Space by John Chu – This cover has a lot of yellows also popping inside of it, along with reds and purples, but the dominant colors are various shades of blue!
  • A River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross – I really like this cover, and how the river flows across the cover with the flowers on either side of the banks for pops of color.
  • The Sun and the Starmaker by Rachel Griffin – My version of this book comes with this custom cover in an all icy blue tone, and I love it so, so much. The reverse of the dust jacket also has the original cover, just in this icy blue color way!
  • Atalanta by Jennifer Saint – I love the different shades of blue used throughout this cover to depict the foreground and background objects.
  • The Last Cuentista by Donna Barba Higuera – Blue and orange are complimentary colors on the color wheel, so this cover is absolutely stunning!
  • The Ashfire King by Chelsea Abdullah – The blue fire really draws the eyes, as does the gold across the bottom that outlines a city.
  • Mirrored Heavens by Rebecca Roanhorse – I love this image a lot. I love the teals and turquoises used to depict her on the cover!
  • To Ride a Rising Storm by Moniquill Blackgoose – The symbol and wings really stand out against the dark blue background, making for a great cover.

And there you have it! There’s my April Showers picks for this week! This was much easier than last week’s, that for sure lol

My favorite color is blue and dang… You’re making me add too many more books to my already toppling over TBR! Also, I keep seeing A Winter’s Promise everywhere. Have you read it? Is it good?

I love a nice blue book cover. The color is so versatile, it’s no surprise that it’s so popular for covers. Great list!

    Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
