Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by Jana of That Artsy Reader Girl! Today’s topic is a genre freebie, meaning we can talk about anything relating to any genre we choose and create a list from it. So say, for instance, we wanted to talk about mystery novels with unreliable narrators, or gothic novels with birds on the cover, etc.
For my list, I wanted to showcase fantasy books that have single word titles. I feel like when we see fantasy books, they generally have very long titles, but very rarely do we see them have singular word titles. So I wanted to point out a few that are on my own shelves that I’d like to read in the near future, or have read before/am currently reading!

Click on a cover to be taken to its Goodreads page!
- Godkiller by Hannah Kaner
- Quicksilver by Callie Hart
- Hollow by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti
- Legenborn by Tracy Deonn
- Alchemised by SenLinYu
- Sistersong by Lucy Holland
- Belladonna by Adalyn Grace
- Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett
- Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
- Kaikeyi by Vaishnavi Patel
There’s a small sampling of books that are fantasy one word titles. Looking through my shelves, it was honestly not as tough as I thought it would be, but by and large one word titles are in the minority. There’s others I missed, but not many, really!
Let me know of a fantasy book you’d recommend that’s a one word title in the comments below! Happy reading and enjoy your Tuesday!
