(This is the synopsis for only Saved a Demon, as that would just be too many to share here lol)
Spice trader Cinnamon’s quiet life is turned upside down when she ends up on a quest with a fiery demon in this irreverently quirky rom-com fantasy that is sweet, steamy, and funny as hell—perfect for fans of Legends & Lattes and The Dragon’s Bride.
All she wanted to do was live her life in peace—maybe get a cat, expand the family spice farm. Really, anything that didn’t involve going on an adventure where an orc might rip her face off. But they say the Goddess has favorite, and if so, Cin is clearly not one of them…
After saving the demon Fallon in a wine-drunk stupor, all Fallon wants to do is kill an evil witch enslaving his people. And, who can blame him? But he’s dragging Cinnamon along for the ride. On the bright side, at least he keeps burning off his shirt.
I read these back in 2025 basically back to back and what a fun time it was! Kimberly Lemming has the best millennial humor in her books as I found myself laughing out loud so much reading these!
Seriously, I wasn’t expecting these books to be as humorous as they are! I don’t really laugh out loud with books all that often, but these ones? I was doing it sooo much! I think that just shows that Lemming knows her audience and knows what kinds of things us as millennials find hilarious.
Each book follows a different sister or cousin or townswoman that each of these ladies comes from, and each one has their own personality and quirks, making them each unique characters to experience in their own love stories. Same with their love interests: each one felt wholly different to one another, which I found to be refreshing and fun to read. I enjoyed reading how each character dealt with the problems that were basically handed to them, and found that they were often very accepting of their circumstances much quicker than I would have expected (or at least, two of them were, for sure).
Though these books focus heavily on the romance and spice aspects of the story, there’s also a through line to follow of the fantasy world in which they reside, allowing us as readers to see how the next couple might deal with the next onslaught of “not good things” that are going to happen next.
The spicier scenes were definitely spicy, so if you’re not into that then maybe skip these. Though, if you are, then by all means, have fun! lol
There was good banter throughout the books, as each couple got to know each other (very quickly, I might add), and the world became more fleshed out with each book. I felt like we got a lot of the larger plot sprinkled in throughout each book, and the stakes continued to get raised higher and higher with each installment.
Though these are companion novels, I do suggest reading them in order so you get the full scope of the world, plus other characters are mentioned in the later books from the previous ones, so if you want to know who is who, then definitely stick to the reading order.
Each book is fun and fast to read, so if you’re looking for some steamy fantasy romances that are super quick but also fun, funny, sweet, and charming, then definitely check out these reads!
