Hello and welcome to March! I can’t believe I’m saying that already. This year is already flying by.

So, last month I made my February TBR hopefuls list, and while I felt that I could tackle that lofty list of hopefuls, I, in fact, did not. Though I didn’t complete my TBR hopefuls, it’s okay because I still really enjoyed and had fun with what I did read, which is what matters.

Last month I managed to complete three of the books I showed on my list, none of which were my prompts! I am a little sad about that, I won’t lie lol but it’s okay. Making this list is fun regardless, and it gives a glimpse as to what I have my eye on for the month!

So, let’s jump into the prompts!

For this one I chose Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. One of my goals this year is to read at least three classics, and I really wanted to read this one for the winter months, and considering we just had a massive blizzards hit us this past week, I’d say we’re still in the thick of winter still! I know it’s fully of incredibly toxic people, but I’m very interested to see how I feel about it myself as I never had to read it for school or anything. (And no, I don’t plan on seeing the 2026 movie release lol)

For this one I went with Love is a War Song by Danica Nava. This sounds like such a cute rom-com kind of romance with Indigenous rep, and just look at that cover! It’s so cute! They’re laying in a field of flowers, so it fits the prompt perfectly.

At the time that I pulled this prompt I was wearing a hot pink shirt, but I’m not going to be so much of a stickler that the cover has to be the exact shade of pink in order for it to count. However, my wife has been incessantly insisting that I read Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman for a while now, and it has a splash of that hot pink color so… fine, I’ll do it lol

I cannot believe I’ve never read this until now. I’ve owned the books since they originally came out. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo has a bunch of representation in it, I know that, so I know it definitely fits the prompt (specifically with Kaz and his use of a cane, at the minimum). As a treat, I’ll most likely continue onto Crooked Kingdom right after while all of the story is fresh in my mind so it doesn’t sit on my shelf waiting to be read for another ten years, you know?

Because why wouldn’t there be? lmao

So I know for sure that at least one book is coming out that I’m super excited for, and then I also might start tackling a few projects I want to work on, which is basically finishing series or books I started but put down (I have a few), and starting my reread journey through a couple of series.

I think what I’ll do is try to prioritize the prompt picks for the first half of the month and then these other books for the second half. But really it’s going to depend on my reading speed, what’s going on irl, and also my mood, so… we’ll see what happens.

Here’s some of the books (and their series) I’ve also got my eye on for the month:

This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me comes out on March 31st, and considering I preordered it from Barnes and Noble and they don’t always deliver on pub day, the chances of me reading it on release day and finishing it then is zero. So. lmao I’m keeping it here anyway, and it’ll just be part of my April TBR!

I also am going to reread and FINALLY finish the Throne of Glass series. I never finished the last two books due to life circumstances at the time of their releases, so they’ve just been waiting to be read. I want to do a full series reread, though, so that’s what I’m planning on doing, so that’s why I’m planning on doing this on the back half of the month to allow me to read the other books I have listed here.

And there you have it! My March hopefuls! Once again I feel like I’m setting myself up for failure but it’s fiiiiiine! That’s why they’re hopefuls and this is made for fun and to be flexible.
